Trakstar Perform: Complete Your Self-Review

Self-reviews give employees an opportunity to reflect on their performance, highlight accomplishments, evaluate progress toward goals, and prepare for meaningful performance conversations with their manager.

During the self-review process, you can:

  • Evaluate your performance against assigned competencies.
  • Reflect on progress toward your goals.
  • Review notes you've recorded throughout the review period.
  • Provide additional context and examples to support your ratings.

You can also watch the available eLearning course for a guided walkthrough or follow the steps below.

Before You Begin

You can only complete your self-review during the scoring window established by your organization. If the review is not available, the scoring window may not have opened yet or may have already closed.

Complete Your Self-Review

Step 1: Open Your Self-Review

  1. From the navigation menu, select Home.
  2. Locate the To Do list.
  3. Select Score Your Appraisal Self Review.

Step 2: Score Each Competency

For each competency in the review:

  1. Select the appropriate rating.
  2. Optionally enter comments that provide additional context or examples of your performance.

As you score each competency, an abbreviated rating appears in the Review Summary on the left side of the screen, indicating that the competency has been completed.

Step 3: Save Your Comments

If you enter comments, be sure to select Add this Comment after typing each one.

Your comments are not added to the review until you click this button.

Important: If you leave the review before selecting Add this Comment, your comment will not be saved.

Step 4: Answer Open-Ended Questions

Some review forms include open-ended questions in addition to scored competencies.

For each question:

  1. Enter your response.
  2. Select Add this Answer to save it to the review.

Be sure to answer each question completely before continuing.

Step 5: Review Your Responses

After completing the review:

  • Every competency in the Review Summary displays either a score or a completion checkmark.
  • An Overall Score may also appear if your organization's administrators have enabled overall scoring.

Before submitting your review, take a moment to:

  • Verify your ratings.
  • Review your comments.
  • Confirm that all required questions have been answered.
  • Make any final edits.

When you are satisfied with your responses, select Send to Manager.

Step 6: Submit Your Self-Review

After selecting Send to Manager, Trakstar Perform asks you to confirm your submission.

Select Yes when you are ready to submit your self-review.

Important: Once your self-review has been submitted, you can no longer edit the ratings or comments unless the review is reopened.

Adding Goals After Submission

Even after submitting your self-review, you can still add new goals if needed.

If a goal is added after the self-review has already been submitted:

  • The review automatically reopens.
  • You will be prompted to provide a rating for the newly added goal before submitting the review again.

This ensures your review remains complete and accurately reflects all assigned goals.

Summary

Completing your self-review allows you to document your accomplishments, reflect on your performance, and provide valuable context for your manager before your performance discussion.

Remember to:

  • Complete your review during your organization's scoring window.
  • Save each comment by selecting Add this Comment.
  • Save responses to open-ended questions by selecting Add this Answer.
  • Review all ratings before submitting.
  • Select Send to Manager only when you are ready, as submissions cannot be edited unless the review is reopened.
