Configure Employee Notes Privacy Preferences

If you want to increase the confidentiality of employee notes, you can configure your account so that employee notes are private by default.

This setting is useful when managers record observations or feedback about employee performance that should remain confidential throughout the year.

Enable Private Employee Notes by Default

  1. Sign in as an administrator.
  2. Navigate to Settings > Company > Notes & Comments.
  3. Enable Make Employee Notes Private By Default.

Once enabled, newly created employee notes will be private by default, helping ensure that sensitive performance-related information is not visible to employees unless note visibility is changed.

Note: Making employee notes private by default can help managers document ongoing performance observations while maintaining confidentiality during the performance management process.
