Review Template Versioning
Review Template Versioning allows administrators to maintain multiple versions of the same review template for a position. This feature is useful when you need to update next year's review form while the current year's form is still being used.
For example, you can prepare a new version of a review template for an upcoming review cycle without affecting reviews that are already in progress.
Enable Review Template Versioning
Review Template Versioning must be enabled before it can be used.
To request this feature, contact support@trakstar.com. The Support team will enable the feature for your account and provide any necessary implementation guidance.
Create a New Review Template Version
Once Review Template Versioning has been enabled:
- Sign in as an administrator.
- Navigate to Forms.
- Select Review Templates.
- Open the position (evaluation template) for which you want to create a new version.
- Select Versions.
- Select Create New Version.
Important: When a new version is created, it automatically becomes the Active version. The active version is the template that will be associated with newly created reviews after an existing review is archived or canceled.
Change the Active Version
If you need to switch between template versions:
- Open the review template.
- Select Versions.
- Use the Active toggle to designate which version should be active.
The selected active version will be used for future review creation.

Add Notes to a Template Version
To make it easier to distinguish between template versions, you can add a note to each version.
For example, you might include:
- The review year
- The review cycle
- A brief description of the changes included in that version
After entering the note, select Save to retain your changes.
