Adjust Goal Weights

If your organization uses weighted goals, managers can adjust the weight assigned to each goal within an employee's review. Goal weighting helps indicate the relative importance of each goal when evaluating overall performance.

Note: Goal weighting is available only if your organization's review template has weighted goals enabled.

Before You Begin

Before adjusting goal weights:

  • Verify that the review includes goals.
  • Confirm that weighted goals are enabled for the review.
  • Ensure the total goal weight meets your organization's requirements.

Adjust Goal Weights

  1. Open the employee's review.
  2. Navigate to the Goals and Notes section.
  3. Locate the goal you want to update.
  4. Edit the goal's Weight value.

  5. Repeat for any additional goals as needed.
  6. Save your changes.

The updated weights are immediately applied to the review.

Verify Total Weight

Depending on your organization's review configuration, the combined weight of all goals may be required to equal a specific total (for example, 100%).

Review the total weighting before finalizing the review to ensure it meets your organization's requirements.

Summary

Goal weighting allows managers to reflect the relative importance of each goal within an employee's review. Updating goal weights helps ensure performance evaluations accurately represent organizational priorities.
