Icon and Button Glossary

Regardless of whether you are an Employee, Manager, or Site Administrator — the Perform system uses both buttons and visual icons to indicate specific actions. The glossary presented here will provide additional information on our most common icons and buttons.

Icons

Green Checkmark:

The Green Checkmark indicates that a particular phase of the review process has been completed. For example, a Manager or a Site Administrator may be reviewing the progress of their reviews. They may see a Green Checkmark within the “Employee” column of a review. That Green Checkmark is the system’s way of quickly telling the viewer that that portion of the review is complete.

Orange Circle:

The Orange Circle indicates that a particular action has not been completed and is still in progress. For example, an Employee’s self-review will display the Orange Circle until the review has been submitted to the Manager. The Manager’s review will receive the Orange Circle until the review is submitted for Approval.

Pause Icon:

The Pause Icon is generated during the Approval Workflow and announces that the Approval Workflow is waiting on a specific user or Approver to acknowledge the review. At this point, we recommend a one-on-one meeting between the User and Manager if necessary.

Override Icon:

The Override Icon appears when either the Manager or the Site Administrator has overridden a step of the review process, the User’s self-review, for example. Whenever that occurs, the User is not required to complete their self-review.

Buttons

Set Goals:

The Set Goals button populates when a review is in the “Goals and Notes” phase of the review process. At this point, the User (depending on their site permissions) or their Manager should add goals to the User’s review. While Goals can be added until the review is submitted for Approval, we recommend entering goals while the review is the the “Goals and Notes” phases when possible.

Take Notes:

Some of our clients have chosen not to include Goals in their reviews. As such, they have disabled the ability to add Goals. If that is the case, the “Set Goals” button will be replaced by the “Take Notes” button.

Score Review:

When the review enters the “Scoring” phase, the Score Review button will populate for both the Employee and their Manager. The Score Review button will take the user to the appropriate review section to score their review.
