Score an Employee Review

Managers can score an employee's review by completing the Manager Review portion of the appraisal. If the employee has completed a self-review, you can compare their ratings and comments while completing your evaluation.


Open the Employee Review

  1. Locate the employee whose review you want to score.
  2. Select Score Employee Name Appraisal.


The review opens to the Manager Review tab by default.


Review Progress

At the top of the review, you can monitor the progress of both the manager review and the employee's self-review (if applicable).

From this page, you can also:

  • View the employee's self-review progress.
  • Override the employee's self-review if necessary.

Note: Overriding the self-review removes the employee's request to complete their self-review.

Score Each Competency

Review each competency and select the appropriate rating using the Rating Scale.

If the employee has completed a self-review, you can also view:

  • Their self-rating
  • Their comments

If the employee has not completed a self-review, these fields will not be displayed.

Continue rating each competency until all required sections have been completed.

Complete the Review

After scoring all competencies, scroll to the top of the review to review your responses and complete any remaining required fields.

Send the Review for Approval

If your organization uses an approval workflow:

  1. Select the Approval tab.
  2. Select Send for Approval at the bottom of the page.

The review will move to the next step in your organization's approval process.

Add Goals After a Self-Review Has Been Submitted

If an employee has already submitted their self-review and you need to add additional goals, you can still do so.

When a new goal is added:

  • The employee's self-review automatically reopens.
  • The employee can provide comments and ratings for the newly added goal.

Previously completed responses remain intact.


View Past Reviews

To view an employee's previous reviews:

  1. Select the current review title in the Review header.
  2. Choose a review from the list of completed reviews for that employee.

This allows you to quickly reference past performance evaluations while completing the current review.
