Cancelling Review Approval To Make Changes
If a review has already been submitted for approval but needs to be updated, you can cancel the approval request. This allows the review to be returned to the scoring stage so ratings, comments, goals, or the approval route can be modified before it is submitted again.
When to Cancel an Approval
Cancel an approval if you need to:
- Update competency ratings.
- Edit review comments.
- Add or remove goals.
- Modify review content.
- Change the approval route.
- Make other corrections before the review is finalized.
Cancel the Approval

Open the employee's review.

- Navigate to the Approval tab.

Select Cancel Approval.

- Confirm the action if prompted.
The review is returned to the appropriate editing stage.
Make Your Changes
After canceling the approval, update the review as needed.
Examples include:
- Changing ratings.
- Editing comments.
- Updating goals or measurements.
- Adjusting the approval route.
- Correcting review content.
Resubmit the Review
Once your changes are complete:
- Return to the Approval tab.
- Select Send for Approval.
The review re-enters your organization's approval workflow.
